Daddy-Daughter Night

Zoe's big grin

I'd been hyped up for nearly 3 days once I picked up the tickets to go to the game with Zoe. Don't get me wrong, having little kids is fantastic, and a wonderful adventure, but Zoe's a little older now, and so I really couldn't help myself. I found some good seats, cheap, (given the dismal performance by the Mariners this season), right behind the Mariner dugout, and Zoe and I made a night out of it.

Although the Ms did pretty poorly, they were shutout 6-0, we had a grand old evening of it. I got home near 5, and packed her up in my car. As we were heading to the field, she was trying to guess what we were doing, and eventually guessed a "ballgame." (Smart kid.) We got to the field, and she was immediately amazed at the kinds of food you could buy. She eventually decided "hot dog", when I told her that people would come down to our seats, and bring food for us to buy. We sat down, the evening had started to cool down, and I was just amazed at how good the seats were, down on the field, right over the dugout. We ate our hotdogs during the first inning, and Zoe got a cotton candy. The cotton candy puff (stick, thing? Whatever you call it) was probably bigger than her head. After about 3 innings, it became apparent that Zoe's interest in the game was largely done. (It was really more than I expected... but she sat through 6 full scoreless innings without complaint.) Still, a great evening.
